Psalms 110

The Priestly King

1A Davidic psalm.

This is the declaration of the Lord
to my Lord:
“Sit at My right hand
until I make Your enemies Your footstool.” a
2 The Lord will extend Your mighty scepter from
Zion: Originally a term for the fortified section of Jerusalem and then, by extension, used for the temple and the city of Jerusalem both in the present time and in the future

“Forever, You are a priest
like Melchizedek.” j

5 The Lord is at Your right hand;
He will crush kings on the day of His anger. k
6 He will judge the nations, heaping up corpses; l
He will crush leaders over the entire world. m
7 He will drink from the brook by the road; n
therefore, He will lift up His head. o
